Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) Camp 2017: ICT for Poverty Alleviation Based Village and Local Wisdom
Background of ICT4D Camp 2017
Technology is one of the main strategic enablers of development if well utilized and can offer a great opportunity for these youth. However most of the IT training is only based in urban areas and little or no coverage in the rural areas.
The ICT4D Forum is an annual activity focused on knowledge sharing in the area of information and communication technology (ICT). Participants from Village Development Movement (Gerakan Desa Membangun/GDM) members, literacy communities, donor agencies, development partners, and the private sector discussed the various ways to address development issues with the help of ICT. The fourth and last session of the first day was dedicated to ICT for popular education.
